DECEMBER 2008 Pension Plan tip of the month...

As a part of  our continuing commitment to data security, The Paragon Alliance Group has contracted with a secure data service, Securefilex, to transfer sensitive client and plan data via the internet. This service offers enhanced encryption and the ability to personalize passwords.

Beginning with the 2008 plan year, your plan's census requests will be sent via this server.

Your Account Executive will soon be creating an account for you on this server so that you are able to send and receive files in this more secure and user friendly manner. Many of our clients have already begun using this service and have found it useful. If you are one of those clients, please allow this e-mail to serve as a reminder and to provide some "helpful hints" listed below.

In order to use this program to transfer your plan data, we need to create a user ID so  you may personalize your password.  You will soon be receiving an e-mail inviting you to create a password and begin the account initialization process. Since this e-mail may be placed in your "junk" folder,  we wanted to  alert you in advance.  You should be receiving your initial e-mail no later than December 5th.

In order to help this system perform in a more "user friendly" manner, we will be sending an instruction packet via e-mail which can be found on our website as well. Please call or e-mail your Account Executive if you have any questions or concerns regarding this new system.

Some Helpful Hints;

• Upon receiving a file through Securefile X, before making any changes, be sure to immediately save the file to your computer or directory of your choice. Changes made while the file is on the server will be lost.

• Retrieve your messages as soon as possible. Messages remain on the server for a maximum of 7 days.

• Be sure to keep your password in a secure place. If you cannot remember it, you can easily reset it.  

• While more than one account per client is allowed, we strongly suggest the number of accounts be limited in order to maximize security.
